How to Sell Python Projects – What You Need to Know

Many people end up having doubts about what they need to know about Python to start producing and selling projects . Therefore, in this class, I will clarify some of these doubts so that you can prepare and sell your own Python projects.


Where to Start Developing and Creating Your Projects in Python

One of the first questions that arise when we talk about freelance Python projects is where to find them. You can search on Google for “freelance programming”, and you will have a list of websites that offer freelance projects to be carried out.

Some of the sites that I have used and can recommend here are: Toptal , Workana , 99freelas , Upwork , Getninjas and Freelancer .

When you access these sites, or when you apply for freelance work, the employer will not be so interested in knowing everything you know about Python, but rather whether you can carry out projects like the one they are requesting.

To assess whether you are fit to carry out the project for which he is hiring, he will check your portfolio, the Python projects that you have previously completed. Therefore, it is very important to build and maintain an always-updated project portfolio.

At first, you won't have any paid projects to add to your portfolio. However, you can develop free projects or even take on challenges from paid projects and complete them for free, even without being chosen by the contractor, just to add to your portfolio.

Necessary Knowledge in Python

As I mentioned earlier, you don't need to have a complete knowledge of Python to start working on your projects. As long as you know the content used to develop the project, you won't face any problems.

However, there are some Python skills that are common to most projects. These are important topics to familiarize yourself with, as they will most likely be used in your projects.

The basics of Python are essential for you to know. There is no point in trying to develop and solve a freelance project without mastering and knowing the basics of Python.

Among this basic knowledge are variables, conditional structures, strings, lists, repetition structures, tuples, dictionaries, iterables, Python functions, list comprehension, modules and libraries.

Object orientation and classes may not be mandatory for all projects. In fact, we have freelance projects here on the blog that were resolved without using these concepts.

Projects such as data analysis and automation will not necessarily use object orientation and classes, so you can leave these topics for a later time. However, if you intend to sell freelance work for the creation of websites and systems, this knowledge will be mandatory to master.
