Liveness/Active Status Check (HLR Lookup):

Post by rakibhasa040 »

Home Location Register (HLR) lookup is a real-time query to the mobile network operator's database. It confirms if a number is active, whether it's currently able to receive calls or messages, and if it's roaming. This step is crucial for identifying inactive, disconnected, or non-existent numbers.
Line Type Identification: Verification often determines if the number is a mobile, landline, or Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) number. This helps businesses tailor their communication strategy (e.g., SMS/WhatsApp for mobiles, calls for landlines).
Carrier Information: Identifying the mobile network operator (e.g., Grameenphone, Robi, Banglalink, Airtel in Bangladesh) can be useful for targeted campaigns or understanding network compatibility.
Risk Analysis/Fraud Detection: Advanced verification services can analyze a number's history for associations with fraudulent activities, spamming, or disposable usage, flagging high-risk contacts.
Ownership Confirmation (OTP/SMS/Voice Verification): This is the highest level of verification, confirming that the person providing the number is indeed its legitimate owner. This is typically done by sending a One-Time Passcode (OTP) via SMS or an automated voice call to the number, which the user then enters to complete a registration or transaction. Silent network authentication, where the number is verified in the background using mobile network data, offers a seamless, secure alternative.
