Facebook has been actively investing in e-commerce for years, and is working to expand its commerce functions. For example, it aims to make the in-stream purchasing process more efficient by expanding Facebook Shops and Instagram Shops to all regions and using Facebook Pay. This latest initiative seems inevitable given the history so far.
"Live Shopping" is expected to encourage more spending than ever before by adding an element of real-time engagement, but incorporating interactive features such as live streaming into online shopping is not new.
