As of May 2022, the total number of SPID digital identities in Italy exceeded 30 million .
Of these 30 million, a good 10 million (therefore, a third) were activated in the previous 12 months, with a trend in continuous and decisive acceleration.
Accesses via SPID to use Public Administration services exceeded half a ivory coast whatsapp resource billion in 2021. In the first four months of 2022, there were approximately 330 million . The trend, also in this case, is of strong and unequivocal growth.
Then there is the issue of the CIE, the Electronic Identity Card: at this moment, the number of Italians in possession of the CIE is already over 28 million.
And finally, here are the statements of Vittorio Colao, Minister for Technological Innovation and Digital Transition:
"We have reached the annual target of digital identity diffusion envisaged by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (equal to 38% of the population) ahead of schedule, and we are getting ever closer to the 2023 target (46% of the population). It is a fundamental step towards continuing the digitalisation process and thanks to this widespread diffusion, the State will be able to offer public services that are even more efficient and easy to use, thus improving the relationship between citizens and businesses and the Public Administration. This will also be possible thanks to the interventions that local and central PAs are launching with great participation, in line with the PNRR timescales" (source: ansa.it ).
After some definitions of Digital Identity and a quick analysis of numbers and trends, here we are with a focus on digital identity for minors; a very delicate topic , this, especially with regard to security (which has increasingly higher levels) and data protection.
