The idea, the human resources and the knowledge are the most important factors for an undertaking.

It's time to have my own business. This is perhaps the phrase of many workers who depend on a salary and who "dream" of becoming owners of their own business and, thus, achieving economic independence.
But am I willing to run this business 24 hours a day? Am I passionate about the idea? Ana Luisa Muñoz, executive director of the marketing consultancy Shock MKT, says that the most important thing is to have the idea, the human resources and the knowledge.
"Many people are paralyzed by the lack of money. That's why you have to become an excellent salesperson for your personal project," he says.
FIRST STEPS Muñoz explains that having your own business will take a lot of time and that everything you do at the beginning will be pure exit number screening investment. "You have to be prepared. Before leaving your job, save up a little money so that you can live and invest in the first few months, and don't give up along the way ," he says.
She points out that the first challenge is with your own family, as many will consider that if you are not in a recognized company, your work will not be important. "Be a little reserved and just dedicate yourself to work. Once you begin to achieve your first objectives, tell them about your progress," says the expert.
HUMAN RESOURCES Initial objectives must be clear and quickly achievable. Don't try to be like your competition, which has been in the market for years. Don't try to have more expenses than you need and never hire someone you can't hold accountable later, Muñoz recommends.
"Don't try to expand if you haven't met your primary objectives. Consolidate them and then move forward," he says.
The specialist calls for taking human resources into account. "It is more important than the product itself. Your worker must be understood, respected and well paid," she says.
