In light of these observations, today I can say that the more mechanical link building activities , those that simply aim to obtain a link from a site with certain statistics regardless of everything, will be supplanted by branding activities in a broader sense , which on the web also include obtaining backlinks, but only in exchange for the establishment of an authentic relationship with characteristics that create value for the same target audience. Value to be associated with a brand, precisely.
For a very long time we SEOs have built backlink profiles by getting signals from pages that would not have added any value to people's lives. "Positioning" links, on pages designed to "do positioning" , hosted on the usage of instagram database websites set up with the aim of selling links. Today Google has much more sophisticated tools that can capture ALL the relevance signals and weight them based on the market segment in which they are produced. In short, Google has more tools than before to understand if a project is really of interest to people.
Work on brand perception, not on buying and selling links . Build ways to communicate with the people you want to reach, create bridges to dialogue with transversal interlocutors, but interesting for the same target audience. Be present.
And forget about the difference between links with and without the nofollow attribute. That's for fanatics.
