Stormy weather: "Studies will not take place in schools and kindergartens"

Due to the "Carmel" storm and the expectation of extremely strong winds that pose a real risk to the lives of children, it was decided today (Sunday) in a joint council by the Mayor of Acre, Shimon Lankri, together with the District Director at the Ministry of Education, Dr. Orna Simhon, to hold distance learning tomorrow, Monday, December 20, 2021, for school and kindergarten children.

The agenda will be sent to all parents and students by the schools (regular education and special education) and kindergartens. Regular distance learning is guaranteed and this day for teachers is mandatory for all purposes. It is the responsibility of parents to ensure their children's active and full participation in distance learning.

The municipality asks parents to ensure that their children stay remove background image safely at home and in a protected environment and to avoid unnecessary wandering in the streets, which poses a real danger to human life.

During the morning, Acre Mayor Shimon Lankri and the municipality's CEO, Yaniv Ashur, convened the department managers in the municipality for a special preparation meeting for the stormy weather. During the meeting, the municipality's preliminary activities that were carried out as part of the optimal preparation for the weather were presented. The mayor and the CEO instructed to strengthen the work teams in all departments of the municipality, so that an immediate response would be provided to any scenario.

Acre Mayor Shimon Lankri: "The storm has significant effects on everything that will happen in the city in the coming days. I ask that you be attentive to all instructions and not go out unnecessarily." It was also decided that an additional situation assessment will be conducted on Tuesday afternoon and announcements will be made accordingly.
Residents are urged to follow the instructions of the fire and rescue forces, which will be published from time to time.

In recent days, municipal workers have been pruning trees and cleaning drainage channels to allow for the regular passage of rainwater.
